The green chrysalis in my garden had turned very dark and I could see the beautiful wings through the crystalline chrysalis. I knew from my internet research that it would be minutes before the butterfly emerged. Observing and documenting the "birth" of a monarch butterfly was a heart song moment for me.

The hummingbird is one of my favorites. They are tiny but mighty. Did you know that some migrate 500 miles non-stop over the Gulf of Mexico? They have the largest brain for body size of all birds and can remember every flower they've sipped and how long it will take the flower's nectar to replenish. They're such a joy to watch!
